Windows problems with updates

What is going on with Microsoft lately? I did an windows update last week and it knocked out my wifi. I had to unistall the updates to get it back. Apparently this happened to all Dell computers. I did the update today (marked important updates) and it knocked out my ability to do cut, copy and paste. It’s offering to update my system to Windows10 which I learned will knock out my ability to watch a DVD on my computer. Is microsoft trying to sabotage themselves or are they really just lacking in any intelligent employees? Very frustrating and has made up my mind to only go with Macs in the future and stay far away from Windows at all costs. Wondering if I should just quit doing updates?
