Windows Server 2003 automatic services

I just got ahold of a Windows 2003 server which is also acts as the Exchange server on a windows domain. I had cause to restart the machine today and for the life of me, a service identified as the Driver Network service refuses to start despite it being an automatic service. the error message received is:

Could not start the Driver Network service on the Local Computer.

Error 5: Access is denied.

Any input is most welcome.
