Windows Server 2003 Compatible External Hard Drive

I need to start doing backups on my server but I still can’t find a Windows Server 2003 Compatible External Hard Drive (500GB min.). The majority of them are 2000/XP/Vista. I had a Western Digital (Dual- Option USB) and I did not work. Is there any external hard Drive compatible with Windows Server 2003?
