Windows start up

how does a person get around the Windows blue start up welcome page? I dont want to have to click on a square or click ok rather than sign in…i want to be able to turn my computer on and be able to walk away for a few minutes and when i return it is loaded and ready to go. I know this can be done…does anyone know how to do this? I would really appreciate some help with this. Thanks.
