Windows Vista networking errors with Windows Server 2003

I just purchased a new tablet pc running Windows Vista Pro. When I attempt to join my domain, I receive the following error: “An attempt to resolve the DNS name of a DC in the domain being joined has failed. Please verify this client is configured to reach a DNS server that can resolve DNS name in the target domain”. I have searched the internet and found numerous others with the same problem. The suggestions to others with this problem have not worked for me. I have the firewalls disabled on both. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
