Windows VPN to SBS 2003 Problem

I have a SBS 2003 r2 server. I can connect the vpn to the server fine but when I try to access or pull some files from a share, it never starts, it always states calculating time. I also have some programs that will run files from the vpn but will lock up. I am assuming these problems are of the same nature. I have used this before on other servers and have had no problems. Any help is greatly appreciated.
