Windows will not install!!!!!….Help!!!

Hello i am installing windows from a clean format. During initial scandisk that windows performs i get the following error: “Run Time error M6111: MATH – floating – point error: stack underflow”, thats when installing win95. With win98 i get another error at the same time: “Standard Mode: Invalid DPMI return from 0367:5F92”. What does this mean? How do i fix it? I have tried several drives but they all screw up?… COuld it be a bad cdrom? Its an old 8X 5 years old.
