Hello all,
An issue has reared it’s ugly head here on our network. I’m going to provide alot of info as nothing seems to correlate here.
We have a domain trust between 2 completely seperate AD Forests (only 1 domain in each). We do not map any shares via login scripts, users are provided the information or a staff member will do it for the user logged in as the user.
Across both sides of our network, users are now experiencing the disconnected network drive issue — in most cases not actually disconnected. The part that is different from what I see here is that the “Name” field of the drive has also been replaced with disconnected network drive as well as the “Type”.
Also, one of the first things we would attempt is to simply remap the user — upon doing this the afflicted drive letters are not available in the Map Network Drive dialog under My Computer.
I’d like to believe this is a server issue? We do use DFS in the environment, but it seems to be affecting users who haven’t even touched a DFS share as well.
Any assistance is much appreciated.
Thanks!
