windows XP in a W2k domain

I jioned a standalone workstation with local user accounts to a w2k domain. I added the local users to the domain, but the users with out admin rights cannot login to the domain, (mesage server not avalible pops up) will I need to give admin rights to the local users OR delete the local user accounts.
