So here is the issue I am running into. My office runs a domain controller.
One of the computers, running Windows XP Professional, reaches the log on screen and will not allow and user to log on to the computer. When you hit the options button to bring up the ability to switch from domain to local computer for log on, the option to switch does not appear. The only item that changes is the screen gives you the option to shut down not switch log on preferences.
I am assuming the computer is most likely infected with a virus. However, I need to back up important files on the computer before I scan for viruses or wipe the hard drive and start over, but since I can not log on I can not back up the drive or scan for viruses.
Any ideas why the computer is blocking all users or any way I can back up the drive without logging on?
