windows XP repair

hi all, i have a toshiba satellite A40 laptop that had problems, i tried repairing it using the XP prof installation CD. Setup starts and reaches the point where it asks which windows installation would you like to log onto (1: C:\WINDOWS), i type 1 and press enter. It then gives me C:\WINDOWS>
What am i supposed to do next.
pls advise ASAP.
