WinXP with no Default Gateway

We have multi WinXP boxs that are not pulling a Default gateway. We have hardcoded the DNS machines into the DNS Server and left obtain IP Automaticly checked. So it will pull the IP Address and Subnet Mask but no Default gateway. If we release and renew but next reboot they lose the Gateway. We have had this problem just looking for an answer if there is one.
