WinXP’s to Win2K3 Server dropped mid day

by jimcorkery . Updated 21 years, 9 months ago

I have setup a small network for a local manufacturing company. They are using 3 XP Pro wokstations connecting to a Win2k3 server. I have never worked with WIN2k3 before, and I’m receiving some errors about DNS (was origionally set to connect to an external DNS. I deleted the local DNS server, and created a new one.) The errors (I don’t recall the exact message) refered to not being able to locate the local server. The systems seem to be working okay with one exception. Two of the three workstations are loosing their connection to the network mid day. They are using onboard NICs, and they work fine after a reboot. I have not heard any complaints about the 3rd system. I was planning on installing separate NICs on the two systems with the problem. After reading several questions on this site, I find that to be a common thread. Any help?
