Wired PC internet and Wireless laptop internet in same room

I work over seas and live in my company’s villa. We have wired satelite internet in the offices and our living quarters (one room each)in the Villa. I have a PC wired to internet in my room but want to aslo use my laptop by wireless to the internet on other side of my room (approx 14-16′). I am pretty sure I can set/buy for a small area but will password in any case so if the wireless ‘bleeds’ to any other rooms that is not a problem. What exactly will I need for hardware. Out local IT guy is not vury experienced with PC’s but is a network administrator (barely). Also I will have to order any hardware in (mostly knockoffs in Afghanistan) or pick up in Dubai, UAE when traveling through or my once a year to the US next month.
