Wireless card – Media disconnected error

by svankadara . Updated 18 years, 1 month ago

Hi,
I’m having issues connecting my laptop to my wireless network
– I’m able to connect my other laptop to this wireless network. So, SSID is being broadcasted.
– I’m able to connect to internet through this router with ethernet cable. So resetting winsock wouldn’t help, I guess.

When i do ipconfig /all I see the following:
Ethernet adapter Wireless Network Connection:

Media State . . . . . . . . . . . : Media disconnected
Description . . . . . . . . . . . : Dell Wireless 1395 WLAN Mini-Card
Physical Address. . . . . . . . . : 00-16-44-B6-39-69

Media disconnected seems something weird to me.

Note: I was able to connect to other wireless networks using this computer earlier. Recently I did try to set up a wireless network on this computer and it messed up.
I’m sure there are atleast 3 other networks in range, but none of them show up in the list

Any help to resolve this is greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance;
Sudheer
