Wireless Connection Problems

I have recently bought a Sony Vaio NR190ES and had no problems connecting to wireless internet until now i can only connect to my wireless in my dorm room, i cannot connect to the wireless at the college or any other wireless. Also it will not let me connect to the internet straight from the modem. I dont know whats wrong. HELP!
