Wireless download problems

I have a remote PC connected wirelssly to a router and broadband connection which is hardwired to another PC.
The wired PC behaves normally but the remote PC has problems downloading programs, updates etc and sometimes web pages appear as hyroglyphs… which suggests to me an inconsistent signal.

The tremote is only 39ft away from the transmitter.

Any ideas?
