i’m wondering if someone has managed to get unauthorised access to my home network. sometimes (with increasing amounts) while i am online on my pc which os connected by cable to my router, the “wireless connection” LED comes on. i’ve gone into the router settings page to check this, and it says that my wireless pc is active and connected to my network – even though the other pc is switched off at the time! i’ve been in and changed the access codes for my network, but this still happens, it even shows the MAC address for my wireless-connected PC.
Can anyone please suggest a program for checking “who” and “where” is using my broadband connection?
Technical info:
both PCs using windows xp sp2 fully updated
router is Belkin (less than 3 months old – problem started on old router)
both been scanned several times by antispyware/antivirus software, and both came up clean.
both computers protected by Zonealarm free version, antivirus on both is AVG Antivirus (free edition), and antispyware programs used are adaware (free version), spybot, and PestPatrol (version 4) – again, all are updated before each scan, and all come up clean.
