When we moved into our house the only option for internet was dial up…frustratingly slow. I recently “upgraded” to DSL because it was supposedly in my area but it runs just as slow. They tell me that it’s because of copper line and that we live a mile off of the fiberoptic and the connection runs slower the further away from the fiberoptic. They also tell me they have no plans to run fiberoptic down my road because it’s not cost effective. Have heard bad things about satellite internet service so don’t want to go that route. I have heard that there is a way to get fast internet if you have line of sight to a tower. I have perfect sight of a tower about 1 mile away if that. How do I find out if this is the right kind of tower and who provides service through it? I’m not really up on all the technology. Please help.
Thanks.
