Wireless N Card Adapter

I have a Linksys wireless cardbus adapter WPC600N. When I connect to a Verizon Wireless FIOS router there is no connection problems. When I connect to a wireless g or b network the laptop will freeze after a few minutes. What’s causing this problem and how do I fix it?
