Wireless Print Server on Wireless Network

by christiegooch . Updated 21 years, 5 months ago

I am trying to setup a home network with the following components:

Dell 1150 Laptop (wireless enabled)
Dell AIO 962 Printer (wireless capable)
Dell 4350 Wireless Router (64-bit WEP)
Linksys WPS54GU2 Wireless Print Server
Windows XP Home SP2

The wireless router setup went smoothly and everything worked fine. The printer was installed locally and worked fine on a direct connection to the laptop. I installed the WPS using the configuration info generated from the router setup. WPS was recognized by the laptop. I cannot print via WPS and receive the message “Parameter is incorrect.”

Bi-directional communication has been disabled for the printer. Windows firewall has been disabled. IP addresses have been verified.

Obviously, I am overlooking a setting (hope that is all). Can anyone provide me a step-by-step process to identify and correct the problem? I’m new to the wireless networking area, but have never had any experience with a print server of any variety.

Thanks and I’ll be sure to check back for any help you can provide.
