I am an IT Tech looking at a friends laptop which connects to his network via ADSL Router using Talk Talk as his ISP.
The laptop connects via wireless connection but disconnects after a couple of minutes or so.
This happens when the laptop is sitting idel on the internet or in the middle of downloads so there should be no issue with the router settings e.g disconnect if idle.
The other pc’s on the network work fine via RJ45 and stay connected when the wireless disconnects the laptop connection. Therefore the connection via ADSL would appear to work ok but the wireless side of the router would appaear to be the issue.
Can anyone throw me a bone on what could be the issue? I have worked on a couple of router before where RJ45 works fine but wirless has minor conflicts anyone get any ideas or similar issues on the Talk Talk side of tings.
I have also tried disabling the Windows Firewall on the laptop.
Another thing i had a PC on the network which was connected via RJ45 set to 192.168.2.2 (STATIC) but the wirless router was attempting to push this out to the laptop and i was getting a conflict but all are now set to DHCP
Any assistance greatly appreciated
