Wireless router problem

I had been using a D-Link 524 router for about a year. It then ‘locked up’ (all lights solidly on). When reset, it would reboot & lock up. No solution from customer service. I replaced the router with a newer version, but it would not allow setup. Customer service & I did it manually. Worked for a couple of days, then the same problem. I’ve replaced the cables and the modem from the cable company. No Luck. If I connect directly to the computer, internet works fine.
Any ideas or help would be appreciated.
