wmiprvse.exe using all of my cpu

i am workign on a computer that is running very slow, so far im finding no traces of anti-virus, spyware,or malware. but i do notice when i pull up task manager on under the processes tab if i do a filter by the cpu usage i find a “wmiprvse.exe, that is taking up usually 75% of my cpu how do i fix this?
