Write protected CDs???

Hello.
I am trying to use an external CD RW drive (using the “Shuttle connector”). Reading CDs are fine.

However, when I try to use “Easy CD Creator” to create a Data CD, I get the error message “CD is write protected”.

The cd rewriter is Samsung sw-208b, connected externally to the computer via a “Traxdata box”.

When trying to create CDs, the CD will eject at the last moment with the error message “The current CD is write-protected”.

(The CDs copy perfectly using someone else’s rewriter)

Reading CDs is fine. Also,when I connect a printer to the “Traxdata box”- that works fine!

Can anyone help?
