WRONG DRIVE LETTER

A freind of mine has just installed XP, unfortunately his hard drive is listed as F: he has 2 CD’s and an internal Zip Drive how does one change it back to C: ?. I presume you cant just set it as the first drive, as all the software inside would be set to F:
Any ideas you experts ?.
