NOTE: Since the only “help” I have received thus far is a comment to move this issue from the Discussion topics to the Question area, I am do just that with the hope that someone, somewhere can give me some help with the problem.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
I have installed Vista Ulimate edition.
Upgraded Windows Server Standard 2003 R2 to run WSS 3.
Each staff member has a “MyProfile” page which is a blank “Basic HTML” page in a Profiles document library.
Vista and IE7 do not support the “Edit Content” button in Sharepoint anymore. The DHTML support has been completly removed for web sites.
THE PROBLEM:
When someone opens their “MyProfile” page and click on the “Edit Content” link, the Rich Test Editor window opens and they get an error message stating: “Cannot Open Rich Text Editor”
OK, HERE’S MY QUESTION:
What, if anything, are others doing to provide this functionality within Sharepoint Services on the Vista platform?
WORK AROUNDS I HAVE TRIED:
It works fine with XP Pro & I.E 7.
It works fine Windows Server 2003 & I.E 7.
It kinda works with Firefox and Vista (some other editor appears on the righthand side of the browser with limited funcationality — you have to manually insert HTML codes and style tags.).
I have tried to get help from Microsoft on-line forums but with no replies to my pleas for help.
