Have:
Windows 2003 DC – WSUS 2.0 installed
in the default OU “Domain Controllers” is the “Default Domain Controllers Policy” and I have added (because of no updates installing automatically) “WSUS-DC” GPO with settings:
‘Configure automatic Upates’ – enabled to
auto download and schedule install every day at 5am ; client-side targeting enabled ; Specify intranet Microsoft update service location pointing to itself.
I have one other XP Pro group configured just the same and is having no problems automating the update installations.
On the WSUS side -> I have under Options->automatically approval options ->i have ‘automatically approve updates’ with critical updates and security updates enabled and ‘all computers’ enabled
and I have Approve for installation enabled with critical updates and security updates enabled with the group for the Windows 2003 DC (the one with the issue, i have it under a group) and the XP group.
I also have in WSUS under Updates-> ‘change approval’ under “approval” , i have “install” for these two groups enabled. Like I said the XP group is automating just fine. I don’t understand what the problem could be. Is it because it’s a DC? DC’s have to be approved for installation manually?
Is anyone else experiencing this issue?
Thanks in advance.
