Installed WSUS 3.0 with default settings using MSDE. When I opened the WSUS
MMC Snap-In the only option I had was to select a server to connect to.
Uninstalled WSUS via Add / Remove. Rebooted server and attempted to run
installation file again and use an existing SQL database server. However,
when I attempted to run the installation program it attempted to do an
uninstall and I got the infamous “The Windows Server Update Services 3.0 was
not removed successfully because an error occurred.”. Below is an excerpt
from my log file. Any help would be appreciated as I have not been able to
find a solution to this problem, and it seems like many people are running
into similiar issues.
