WSUS Problem

Folks,

I had WSUS 3.0 sp1 running on w2003 server which died on me through hardware fault. Clients used to automatically connect to WSUS server through group policy.

Now that WSUS server has died will the client pc’s try to connect to Windows update in the background even though group policy is still in place?
