XP activation

I bought windows XP Pro when it first came out. I have since scrapped one pc and used it on another, Now I am changing to 2 laptops, and although i have the key, I cannot get past the product activation. I get a messagetelling me my uses of this CD have been exceeded. is there any way to bypass the Product Activation that they give you 30 days to do it in?
