XP allows to switch between gfx cards?

I was just wondering if anyone knows if windows xp allows you to switch between graphics cards, as i have my main voodoo 3, but also sometimes need to be able to switch to a fixed frequency card for my fixed freq monitor. at the moment i have to swap cards and my pc doesnt seem to allow 2 cards to run and switch between the two (in current win 95/98). im thinking of getting xp and hoping it will resolve some difficulties. can anyone help please and advise?
