XP crash after shutting down

by kdsali . Updated 19 years, 2 months ago

My pc crashed about 3 months ago. Took it to be repaired, had to have HD dumped & software re-installed. I was told XP corrupted itself???

The other day the original poroblem started to plauge the machine again. It starts running rediculously slow (downloads taking sometimes 5 minutes via highspeed internet connection).

Upon start up, a dos window comes up showing
“Keyboard Failure”
The system is a “Dell GX260” running 1.5 gigs ram & a 250gig HD.

This new problem… is starting exactly the way the last one did, which I was told that the only thing to do is dump the HD and start all over. I haven’t backed up the pc since the last crash… I hope I don’t have to repeat the process again!

Any suggestions? Has anyone else experienced this type of problem? Does XP actually corrupt itself at times?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance.

Dan
