XP dropping network drives at logon

by saynotobread . Updated 18 years, 6 months ago

I just redid the server and am having an annoying problem. I have an application that runs off a SHARED folder that I’ve mapped as a drive for the entire office. The shortcut to the app is on all desktops. On certain computers, when logging in, it doesn’t keep the USERNAME and PASSWORD and does not prompt to enter it when the app is run. This means that I have to either 1)show everyone how to remap the network drive (NOT a good idea for people who don’t know what they’re doing) or 2)remote or drive into the ffice every morning and map the drive w/ the UN and PW.

I’ve already tried Net Use /persistent:y and mapping through windows and having it reconnect @ logon. Other things I’ve tried are, mapping a drive for the particular folder where the .EXE file, but to no avail… 🙁

ANY suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated. What should be something simple has turned into a huge annoyance.
