XP File Protection

Hot do I switch off the option in XP,for the data protection.

I have to select Run as to open any .exe’s and once i remove the tick in the box for “protect my data and computer from unathorized activity” my programs work fine,if I try to run them normally they will not run and I get a rundll32 error.
