XP Formated SATA HD problem on external Enclosure

I have a SATA HD from my NB which was infected with Infostealer.Phar virus. After following instruction from Symantec, the virus was removed, but I lost TCP/IP connection due to erased registry files. So, I re-installed the NB with another SATA HD and wish to retrived files from this old SATA HD. But I can’t read anything from this SATA HD from an external enclosure which I am quite sure the external enclosure is working properly. How can I access to this SATA HD’s contains. (by the way, if I put back the HD into my NB, it is still working but just can’t access TCP/IP)
