XP installation does not continue to second stage

I attempted a clean install of WIN XP on an HP MC 7767c.

The install started normally; formatted the disk; copied files and as usual said that the computer will resart and complete the installation.

However; rather than completing the second part of the install as usual IT SIMPLY restarted the install from the beginning.

How can I proceed to complete the installation?
