XP Office freezes doing a “save in”

In Word, Excel, Outlook etc. When this user opens the app all is ok. But when you go to “File” then click “Save As” we have Windows “Save As” Box that opens. Here ia the problem, If you click on the pull down for “save in” the whole app freezes forabout 1 to 20 min.

Once it opens each folder or drive you choose to navagate through pauses 20 to 60 sec.

This is on a 2.4 Ghz box, and navagating in windows explorer is fine, all programs but Microsoft are fine.

What gives???

Any help would be welcomed.
