XP Pro not releasing Password

I have a users computer running XP Pro. I’m in the process of setting the user up on a new computer. She has changes her password since I have started the setup on the XP System. I have gone in the systems and reset her password to the new one. But the XP System will not recognize the new password. It only accepts the password she was using during the beginning of setup. So now, files on the server, and mapped drives I could originally get to, I can no longer get to, it is giving me an error that says verify location, or location not valid. I have changed my password since the initial setup and my new password will not work on the computer either, only my old one when I started the setup. Does anyone have an solutions to this problem.
