XP Pro Permissions

We have a user whos computer was originally setup with his local account has the admin. Now is computer has joined the domain and is no longer an admin on his local computer, we have had some permission issues. He is a member of his local power users group, just because of some old applications that need access to the reg. How do we fix the permission issues so he can access some of his local documents.
