Yet another HD Format enters the “rat race”

by ---tk--- . Updated 17 years, 5 months ago

So I have been reading up about HD formats and all that jazz. From what I understand there is another HD format coming into the scene….? What? not another one… LOL…

“HD VMD (Versatile Multilayer Disc) format. The new format uses a red laser, instead of the blue laser used in HD DVD and Blu-ray – which explains the lower cost.”

After reading article after article about this “new” technology that wants to put HD DVD and blue ray technology a run for their money, I am still undecided…

what do you think about this new technology? Once again, I have put off buying into any of the new HD formats because I have no idea on where this technology is going.

(the best article I came across)

Personally, I think it will all end up streaming over the net, and downloads… Why bother with the disk, just hook up your PC to your TV… But thats just me.

So whats your opinion about this new technology and what format will end up winning the race?
