Zip drive & W2K

I have a ZIP 100 parallel port on Windows 2000. I have followed all the troubleshooting techniques offered by iomega’s website, but the zip still will not appear in windows explorer. How else can I assign a drive letter to a zip other than in computer management or BIOS settings???
