I was in the process in reinstalling Vista Personal into an Acer Inspire laptop when it was interrupted by a momentary power failure that was enough to abort the installation. The installation was largely complete: English and the time zone had been entered and it was in the process of configuring the system when the calamity occurred. Now when I try to boot, I get the Acer logo and then a black screen with a blinking hyphen in the upper left corner of the screen. Since it’s out of warranty, Acer refuses to help, and I’m at a complete loss on how to fix it. Also, it will no long boot either the MS Installation Disk nor the Acer Recovery disk from the DVD drive. Can anyone here help or suggest where I might go for help?
