Trillian Chat Client: The Right Tool for the Job?

I was a Trillian user for ages, then moved over to Gaim, now Pidgin (via SourceForge). I have been thinking about going back to Trillian, but hey, it works...

I have used Trillian for several years now and I love it. The only issue I have ever had with it are the propensity for chat providers to change without notice. Now this is not Trillian's fault so I am not complaining about that, but sometimes it seems they are unaware of the change for several days. Once they are aware of it they are fast to fix and get a patch out.

I am not certain WHY I would want Trillian Pro over the free version. Honestly I think they need to add some more features to the pro version and perhaps fix and upgrade pro FIRST, then offer updates to the free users.

i used to use it as well, and also had a bunch of problems with it. i switched to qnext, which has worked quite well for me, and offers a number of other services (file sharing and video conferencign between mac, windows and linux)
