OnePlus hasn’t announced the Ace 7 series yet, but leaked prototypes are already revealing what the company appears to be testing for its next performance-focused phones.

The latest leak from tipster Digital Chat Station points to a 6.78-inch display, active cooling, up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage, and high-end camera hardware. Other reported engineering samples have tested batteries approaching 10,000mAh, refresh rates as high as 240Hz, and different Snapdragon processors.

Official details remain scarce. Launch timing and regional availability are still unknown, and earlier engineering samples indicate final hardware is still being worked out.

Active cooling would change how the Ace line handles sustained performance. Existing OnePlus devices such as the Ace 6 use the company’s Glacier Cooling System with a vapor chamber. A built-in fan could manage heat differently during long gaming sessions, though fan noise and durability would affect daily use.

A 16GB and 1TB configuration would leave plenty of room for large games and local media if it reaches retail. Camera hardware looks more ambitious on paper than Ace 6, but resolution alone says little about image quality. Sensor size, optics, and processing will decide how much of the upgrade users actually notice.

Earlier prototypes hint at multiple Ace 7 configurations

Ace 7 prototypes have moved through several hardware combinations since May. One early configuration paired a battery around 9,000mAh with 100W charging and display testing as high as 240Hz. Another engineering sample later surfaced with an SM8845 Pro chip and a battery reportedly approaching 10,000mAh.

Battery testing at those capacities indicates endurance remains a major part of development.

Gadgets 360 later reported two engineering samples using different Snapdragon variants, with a possible Pro model carrying a 50MP Samsung JN5 periscope camera with 3.5x optical zoom. Camera hardware had not been finalized, and prototypes were also associated with a minimalist exterior.

Multiple configurations fit an Ace 7 family still being developed, where separate models could end up with different battery, performance and camera hardware.

The phone series could reach more APAC markets

A China launch would follow the Ace line’s recent history, but related OnePlus hardware has also reached India and other international markets under different model names. India, the Philippines, and other APAC regions could therefore receive the same hardware later, even if the Ace branding remains regional.

Importing could become the earlier route if the phone debuts in its home market first. An imported OnePlus phone may support 5G without matching every local carrier band or service, and warranty coverage can also depend on where the device was sold.

Pricing could ultimately decide whether importing an Ace 7 is worthwhile. Waiting for a regional release could bring comparable hardware with local carrier support and warranty coverage, depending on how the smartphone maker handles the wider rollout.
