OnePlus is beginning to put ColorOS in the hands of OnePlus 15-series users, starting with a small group of testers in India.
The program covers the OnePlus 15 and 15R and gives a limited group of Indian users early access to the software before a wider release. For users and IT teams managing OnePlus devices, the beta offers an early look at the company’s shift toward Oppo’s software platform, while raising practical questions around stability, compatibility, data backups, and the eventual migration from OxygenOS.
India gets an early look at ColorOS
OnePlus said it invited a select group of OnePlus 15 users in India to join its confidential ColorOS closed beta program, giving them early access before the software’s official release. Applications were open from Aug. 6 through Aug. 7, with the program capped at 300 users.
Participants must use the Indian variant of the OnePlus 15, have a registered OnePlus Community account, sign a confidentiality agreement, and join a Telegram group for ongoing interaction with the software team.
OnePlus also made clear that the beta is not intended for everyday reliability. The company warned that the build may be unstable and advised participants to maintain regular backups in case they encounter crashes, unresponsive apps, or other compatibility problems.
Experience Improvement Programs and Auto Update Overnight are also enabled automatically after upgrading. OnePlus required testers to be running build CPH2745_16.0.9.400(EX01) before applying through the Beta program section in the device settings.
Who can get the ColorOS beta
Android Authority noted that the ColorOS closed beta is also available for the OnePlus 15R, with the program currently limited to Indian variants of both the OnePlus 15 and 15R. OnePlus advertised 300 OnePlus 15 slots, while Android Authority reported another 300 for the 15R.
