1720 Hard Drive detects imminent failure

I have a Compaq with 320 RAM. For the most part I’ve been satisfied. Now, everytime I start up I get this message “1720 Hard Drive detects imminent failure” with two choices on my screen. One “F1 Boot” and two, “F10 computer setup.” I have triedboth with no noticable difference. I am running ME os. I am unable to restore to a better point. Any suggestions?
