3com hub issue

I have a sight that has an RS/6000 attached to the LAN that our office supports. My contact over there was informed to set the NIC in that box to be @ 100Mbs/ half duplex. This person was informed to set the corresponding port on their 3com super stack II, dual speed 500 hub to be 100Mbs also.

My question is this; is this possible, and if so, how is it accomplished?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
