98 won’t boot

by klvrcn . Updated 24 years, 10 months ago

when booting you get CPU is unworkable or has changed – Please recheck CPU soft menu.
I’ve reset it to fail safe defaults it comes up the same. When I push F1 it tells me Disk Boot Failure Insert system disk. This doesn’t work so I insert a windows98 startup floppy. When I type at the A: prompt FDISK /STATUS it tells me that: No Fixed Disk is present? Does this mean that the hard drive is shot? Please Help! A MCP isn’t any good without the hands on!
