Accessing C drive

Hi, When I open my computer from the desk top and double click on C-drive, it will not open. When I use right click on start for explorer there is not a problem. Everything seems to be working fine but this just bugs me why I can’t open from my computer.
Note: We have added an extra hard drive a year ago and not excactly sure when this problem started.
